三峡水库漂浮物的处理是三峡蓄水后的一大难题。由中国长江三峡集团公司与华新水泥（秭归）有限公司共同研发的水泥窑协同处理漂浮物生产线投产3年来，将三峡水库漂浮物处理后用作水泥生产过程中的燃料，累计处理漂浮物13万立方米，相当于节约1万多吨标准煤。这种处理方法既避免了漂浮物的二次污染，又为三峡工业提供了“新能源”。
